Basic ginseng root drink

I went to the TCM doctor with hubby the other day and the doc recommended that he should drink some 'cooling' drink every day or every other day to relief his 'heatiness' and this is one of the drinks that he suggested that I make for hubby.

And so it's down to the basics:


Basic ginseng root drink

Ingredients:
  • 1-2 handfuls of ginseng roots
  • 1.5L water
  • a pinch of salt

Method:
  1. Rinse the ginseng roots and place them in the pot of water.
  2. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30min.
  3. Turn off fire, add a pinch of salt.
  4. Wait till the drink is cool before serving otherwise it will lose the 'cooling' effect.
